Live abroad at least ONCE in your life.

If flowers can flourish in the desert, you can flourish anywhere.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Considering traveling on your own? Just do it. I have yet to meet someone who has responded negatively to a solo trip.

The pandemic taught many folks, many lessons.

It taught me the following:

  1. don’t wait on the weekend

  2. travel on your own

2020. I just moved. I just did it without allowing a millisecond of overthinking influence my decision.

Some constant thoughts that truly helped get my physical body to the airport:

  • “What’s the worst that could happen?”

  • “If I absolutely hate it, I’ll buy a direct flight back home the next morning.”

  • “I’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.”

  • “If God has granted me this opportunity, I should take it.”

Before I knew it, I was on my 10:20pm Emirates flight to Dubai. With dark skies, gentle rain, and no more than one passenger per row, I took off into the night.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you [God].” -Psalm 56:3
